New Products from Interface Force Measurements

Interface Inc. announces their new Model 3400 Intrinsically Safe Family of Load Cells. This all stainless steel construction load cell provides a sealed connector and signal amplification that provides IP68 environmental protection and meets explosion protection by Intrinsic Safety per ATEX Zone 1 designation, II 2 G Ex ib IIC T4.

The CE Certified 3400 series load cell models are specially designed with loop-powered intrinsically safe amplified output for use in oil fields and other hazardous locations. These load cells are derived from other proven Interface models by adding high resistance strain gages for low current loop power and shielded internal amplifier for extra low emissions and minimal EMI susceptibility.

The Model 3400 Intrinsically Safe Load Cells represent a family of load cells of various capacities, from 100 to 100K lbf, all with the same internal 4-20 mA loop powered amplifier and 4000-5000 ohm strain gage bridge values.

"Our ATEX approved product family gives Interface the unique ability to accommodate hazardous environments that our prevalent in the Oil & Gas market. The model 3400 series helps round-out our entire load cell and torque product offering for this critically important industry. These products satisfy a real need by our customers who require a robust product designed to withstand the harsh environment in these applications while providing mechanical accuracy. The 4-20mA output inherent to the intrinsically safe amplifier also provides a signal that is safe for use in explosive environments and impervious to long cable lengths", stated Mr. Grant Shaffer, National Sales Manager for Interface.
